A strong and original repertoire : traditional songs and music from Haute
Bretagne. Arrangements influenced by Rock music.
A fusing of 6 musicians from Nantes whose main aim is sharing the enthusiasm
they diffuse on stage.
It all started one Thursday evening in 1993 in the music shop of Jean Michenaud,
surrounded by speakers, microphones and glasses of the local white wine
(Muscadet). At the time, there were four of them, and they were all called
Jean…
The team soon recruited new members, the final line up finally stabilising
in 1997.
This group is totally original – there’s nothing else like it
: it is a mixture of traditions form Haute Bretagne with a very modern
approach to the songs and breton music in general.
It is also a lively fusion between the best of traditional sources and
subtle or energetic arrangements.
In their third album tunes from Ireland and Brittany are woven around contemporary
texts put to music by the group.
